AUSTRALIA VS ENGLAND
England unbelievebly won last year's Ashes after a fantastic series that no one in the world of crickrt will ever forger. The second test At Egbaston will never be forgotten as England won by just two runs in a pulsating match. The two teams are probaly the best two around at the moment so this will be a very tense encounter. Australia have a lot to prove to their fans after been slated for their defeat last year.
The England squad has been named and Andrew Flintoff has been named as the captain of the England squad ahead of the Ashes Test in which the English will start off as underdogs. It was thought that Andrew Strauss might have got the nod because of his good form as captain but it was not to be.
LATEST NEWS:
Ricky Ponting has put in the performance of the day in the first day of the ashes as Australia are 346-3 after day one and Ponting has a century and is still st the crease. Flintoff has been the only brightspot for the tourists with wickets. Austrilia will definetly be the favourites now to take the first test with a real captains performance. I've got a funny feeling this series will be a vintage performance by the Austrlians because thay are ready to take the ashes back.
This is the England squad that has been selected for the test:
Andrew Flintoff (capt)
James Anderson
Ian Bell
Paul Collingwood
Alastair Cook
Ashley Giles
Stephen Harmison
Matthew Hoggard
Geraint Jones
Sajid Mahmood
